Motorcycle and scooter engines are mainly air- and water-cooled engines . Mixed forms such as air / oil cooling are practically no longer found today. The water cooling not only has the advantage of more effective cooling of the engine, it also significantly reduces the noise emission . Since the cooling system of a motorcycle engine is exposed to strong thermal and mechanical loads (pressure!), these components should be checked regularly and worn or defective components replaced immediately. A leaking radiator or a burst radiator hose while driving can have a nasty effect. This can lead to an engine failure, leakage of the coolant  that in worst case, can lead to an accident!  Cooling water mixed with radiator antifreeze has a soft effect!

In addition to the radiator, many engines also have an oil cooler to keep the temperature of the engine oil in the optimum range.
